CIF

Abbreviation for Common Intermediate Format, which is a standard video format, part of ITU H. 261 videoconferencing standard. It is usually used to refer to video frames with dimensions of 352 pixels width and 288 pixels height with a data rate of 30 frames per second (fps). There are five different CIF formats, defined by their resolution, and standards both above and below the original resolution have been established. QCIF(Quarter CIF)and SQCIF(Sub Quarter CIF)are below CIF resolution, whereas 4CIF(4 x CIF)and 16CIF(16 x CIF)are above it.
